Uses: Temporarily relieves the symptoms of minor skin irritations, boils, superficial cuts, scratches, wounds and redness.
Active Ingredients | Purposes:
Acidum Carbolicum 2X HPUS: eases pain from red, swollen bites
Ichthammol 2X HPUS: helps to heal the skin
Arnica Montana 3X HPUS: eases pain and swelling
Calendula Officinalis 3X HPUS: eases pain from white hard bites
Echinacea ang. 3X HPUS: eases pain from itchy red bites
Sulphur 12X HPUS: relieves itching, sores, hives
Hepar Sulph. 12X HPUS: relieves abcesses, boils, itching
Silicea 12X HPUS: relieves eruptions, boils, urticaria
Inactive Ingredients: Rosin, beeswax, petrolatum, stearyl alcohol, alcohol, methyl & propyl paraben.
Warnings:
As with any drug, ask a doctor before use if pregnant or nursing a baby.
Consult a physician if symptoms persist for more than 7 days or worsen.
Keep this and all medications out of the reach of children.
Do not use if sealed packet is broken, torn or missing.
In case of accidental overdose, contact a poison control center immediately. In case of emergency, Hyland’s may be contacted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 800/624-9659.
Wash affected area with hot water, dry and apply PRID twice daily on clean bandage or gauze. You may cover lightly with gauze. Do not squeeze or apply pressure to affected site. After irritation subsides, apply PRID once daily for several days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by cutiepatootie from Highly recommended I highly recommend this product to anyone that has or have painful reoccurring boils such as I do. I had a really large painful boil on my inner thigh and I was recommended prid by one of my aunts. I applied a thick layer of the ointment directly on some gauze right after I got out of a hot shower to make sure the ointment goes through the skin faster. And within approximately 4 hours my boil began to drain! As it was draining, I felt hardly no pain and I was able to move my leg around again! Within 2 days it was already healed! I would recommend (those with large boils) using gauze that has bandaid like material on one side and gauze on the other to insure that your boil doesn't drain through and stain your clothes. The only downside of this product is that since it weakens your skin, it also irritates it after the wound has healed. My wound area was really itchy after it healed

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bugged by Insects from Smells funny, but it works. I used this for an insect bite that wasn't getting any better after a few days. I rubbed some on, and covered it with a bandaid. It was 100% better the next day. It smells a bit, but the result was worth it. I think it's very similar to, or the same black salve we used back in the day. And I found it in the pharmacy section of the local supermarket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Aunt P from I really should invest in some goatskin gloves. I have four dozen rose bushes in my yard which are still blooming due to the weather being unseasonably mild. I was cutting a little bouquet to take inside and a tiny thorn not only stuck me but got imbedded in my thumb! It was deep enough that I couldn't see it but I sure could feel it. Luckily, I always keep some PRID in the medicine cabinet. After just a few days of treatment, that little sucker was sticking out far enough to grab with tweezers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by abcsteward from Quick! Fast! Effective! I often get boils in not so great places. But never have I had one that grew to be the size of a lemon! Holy Wow! What pressure and pain something can cause! I went to the local Walgreens trying to find some Icthamol, and PRID is what I came out with. Boy am I glad I did. Almost immediately after cleaning the area, and applying a liberal amount of the salve, the boil started draining! Yes, that quick! I changed the bandage right before bed, and when I woke up, the pain was gone, the lemon size boil was gone, and I feel so much better! I couldn't speak more highly of a product.

I am 43 and suffer from cystic acne, which typically compounds the ingrown whiskers I get - from a very heavy beard. PRID works awesome, imhad no idea there was even such a huge thing as drawing salve. Imhighly recommend the product as it seems to quickly bring cycsts and ingrowns to the surface - even in area that have been smoldering for months.

The smell wasn't quite pleasant but once it was applied to the affected area, it started to drain the boil within 4 hours. I was so amazed by the results. The pain began to go away whenever I sat down after a day. Thanks to PRID, my boil was healed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Caitybugg3446 from Works well I've been using this stuff for years and am amazed at how well this stuff works. It does draw out fluid from blisters or whatever. I do reccomend using this over the random store brand ichthammol ointment. This salve does have a strange smell but trust me when I say it's 100x better than the random store brand ichthammol ointment which literally smells and looks like axel grease. Prid is a very soothing salve and really gets the job done! It's a must have for first aid.
